04/09/2008 - Nyon, Switzerland (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - There were no changes in the top five of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men's World Rankings for the month of April, but second- ranked Brazil has closed to within 10 points of top side Argentina.
The Brazilians have made up 32 points on their South American rivals, and could make a push for the top spot in the coming months.
The rest of the top five remained the same with Italy, Spain and Germany taking the next three spots respectively, while the Czech Republic remains sixth and France is still seventh.
However, Greece has moved up two spots to eighth, its highest-ever FIFA/Coca- Cola World Ranking, after beating Portugal last month. The Portuguese dropped to ninth with the loss while the Netherlands also moved down one place to 10th.
Israel climbed to 20th, which gives them their loftiest perch ever in the rankings, while the United States used its impressive 3-0 win over Poland to jump seven spots to 21st.
Moldova made the biggest move inside of the top 50 as they improved 14 places to 37th, while Guinea (41st, up 7) and Lithuania (49th, up 7) also made good progress.
Turkey (23rd, down 5) slipped out of the top 20 with both Russia (25th, down 4) and Poland (28th, down 4) taking small steps back.
Other teams that suffered drops in the rankings include the Republic of Ireland (42nd, down 5), Australia (43rd, down 5), Switzerland (46th, down 6) and Belgium (48th, down 6).
